CAT 1 Certification Course:
Overview:
The CAT 1 course is designed to prepare participants for qualification as a CAT 1 certified thermographer. It covers fundamental topics in infrared thermography, enhancing knowledge in areas such as infrared physics, heat science, and the application of infrared measurement equipment. Participants will gain practical skills in setting up infrared cameras, configuring parameters, capturing high-quality images, and performing initial analysis.

Prerequisites:
While the course caters to individuals with varying levels of expertise, it is recommended that participants have some basic experience with Infrared or Thermography. Access to an Infrared Camera is necessary for completing assignments.

Course Objectives:
The curriculum encompasses Thermal/Infrared Physics, Temperature Measurement, Heat and Temperature Nature, Heat Transfer Modes, Calibration of Infrared Equipment, Radiosity Concepts, Infrared Inspection Procedures, Image and Documentation Techniques, Data Collection Support, Database Programs, and Report Generation.

Student Benefits:
Upon enrollment, students gain online access to all learning materials, including a downloadable Course Resource Manual and digital handout materials. Successful completion results in IRISS 18436-part 7 CAT 1 IRT Certification. Additionally, students become part of the SMART Academy Alumni Network.

Certification Credits:
This course is eligible for NETA Continuing Technical Development Credits (CTDs). NETA Certified Technicians (Level III and Level IV) can earn a minimum of 48 CTDs every three years to maintain their certification.

CAT 2 Certification Course:
Overview:
The CAT 2 course is an advanced program designed to prepare participants for qualification as a CAT 2 certified thermographer. It covers advanced topics in infrared thermography, including Principles of Infrared Thermography IRT, Equipment and Data Acquisition Laws, Image Processing in IR, General Applications, Diagnostics and Prognostics, Conditioning Monitoring, Corrective Actions, Condition Monitoring Principles, Reporting and Documentation, ISO Standards, Camera Measurement Techniques, and Environmental Health and Safety.

Prerequisites:
To enroll in the CAT 2 course, participants must hold a current and non-expired CAT 1/Level 1 Certification and demonstrate a minimum of 420 hours of documented experience in Infrared or Thermography. Access to an Infrared Camera is essential for completing assignments.

Student Benefits:
Similar to the CAT 1 course, enrolled students gain online access to all learning materials, including a downloadable Course Resource Manual, Soundwaves, and digital handout materials. Successful completion results in IRISS 18436-part 7 CAT 2 IRT Certification, and students become part of the prestigious SMART Academy Alumni Network.

Certification Credits:
Both courses are eligible for NETA Continuing Technical Development Credits (CTDs). NETA Certified Technicians (Level III and Level IV) can earn a minimum of 48 CTDs every three years to maintain their certification. Advanced Ultrasound Certification Courses

CAT 1 and CAT 2 ASU

Our advanced ultrasound certification courses are designed to propel the theory of ultrasound into the next generation, surpassing the ISO 18436-part 8 CAT 1 and CAT 2 ASU outlines. These courses immerse students in a learner and instructor-centered, content-focused lecture methodology, proven effective through self-paced video modules.

CAT 1 ASU Certification Course:
Prerequisites:
Recommended for individuals with 210 hours of documented operational use of ultrasound detection devices, this course teaches students about the principles of ultrasound, ultrasound devices, and the utilization of sound analysis software to identify fault conditions previously undetectable by other courses.

Course Objectives:
The curriculum covers the theory of ultrasound and its applications, data acquisition, management, initial interpretation of harmonic indications, establishing action levels for corrective actions, principles of condition monitoring, and program management.

Student Benefits:
Enrolled students gain online access to all learning materials, including a downloadable Course Resource Manual and digital handout materials. The course includes benchmark quizzes for assessing student retention. Successful completion results in IRISS 18436-part 8 CAT 1 ASU Certification, and students become part of the SMART Academy Alumni Network.

Certification Credits:
For NETA Accredited Companies, the course is eligible for NETA Continuing Technical Development Credits (CTDs). NETA Certified Technicians (Level III and Level IV) are required to earn a minimum of 48 CTDs every three years to maintain their certification.

CAT 2 ASU Certification Course:
Prerequisites:
This course requires a current and non-expired CAT 1/Level 1 Certification and a minimum of 420 hours of documented experience with ultrasound detection devices.

Course Objectives:
Building on the foundation laid by CAT 1, this advanced course covers risk appetite, FMCA, criticality ranking, data mining, management, and interpretation of harmonic indications, disposition of anomalies, benchmarking, severity determination, principles of condition monitoring, and program management, including personal safety.

Student Benefits:
Similar to the CAT 1 course, enrolled students gain online access to all learning materials, including a downloadable Course Resource Manual and digital handout materials. Successful completion results in IRISS 18436-part 8 CAT 2 ASU Certification, and students become part of the SMART Academy Alumni Network.
