CDS Series Controlled Energy Fault Locators

These are self contained semi-portable test sets for testing and fault locating in primary cable systems

• Three output taps provide maximum thump energy at each of three selectable output voltages
• All models include a Hipot/Burn output. Advantages are:
  • Apply voltage to verify fault and ID the bad cable
  • Determine breakdown voltage to select proper output voltage tap
  • Burn/condition the fault to permit lower voltage less damaging thumping
  • Hipot the cable after repair
• Remote TDR/Radar design
  • TDR and thumper can be used separately
  • Easier repair/replace of either component
• Internal Arc Reflection Filter is compatible with other radar units on the market
• Three Models:
  • CDS2010U 0-5/10/20 kV output. 1000J at all taps
  • CDS3616U 0-9/18/36 kV output. 1600J at all taps
  • CDS3626U 0-9/18/36 kV output. 3200J at all taps
